Burnout: What It Is, Why It Happens, and How You Can Recover

Burnout isn’t just about being tired. It’s a deeper kind of depletion, emotional, physical, and mental, that leaves people feeling disconnected from themselves and the world around them. It often shows up as chronic fatigue, irritability, loss of motivation, and a sense that nothing you do makes a difference.

As a coach and hypnotherapist, I work with individuals who are navigating burnout in many forms, from high-achieving professionals who’ve lost their spark, to caregivers who feel invisible, to those who simply feel like they’ve disappeared behind the roles they play.

Why Burnout Happens

Burnout is often the result of prolonged stress, but it’s rarely just about workload. It can stem from:

  • A mismatch between your values and your environment
  • Unclear boundaries between work and personal life
  • Emotional suppression or unresolved grief
  • Perfectionism and people-pleasing tendencies

It’s not a personal failure: it’s a signal that something needs attention.

How I Help

Using a blend of coaching and hypnotherapy, I help clients:

  • Understand the root causes of their burnout
  • Reconnect with their values, identity, and inner resilience
  • Learn practical tools for energy management and emotional regulation
  • Heal subconscious patterns that drive overwork or self-neglect

Recovery isn’t about doing more, it’s about doing differently. It’s a path of rediscovery, not just rest.

If you’re feeling burnt out, stuck, or disconnected, know that you’re not alone and that recovery is possible.
